The 2022 GQ Grooming Awards for the best razor.
(Not a software post)
The Rockwell T2 won the The 2022 GQ Grooming Awards for the best razor.
I
did an "earlier post" about my experience with the Rockwell T2 safety
razor. For me the best part of the razor is, you don't have to take it
apart, It's one piece.
After shaving with a Rockwell 6s for some time I decided to try out their new twist-to-open adjustable razor, the T2.
I
did find that the T2 is a little bit more aggressive than the 6s - for
example I usually use plate 4 on the 6s but on the T2 found the
equivalent to be closer to setting 2. Adjusting this razor is easy.
Just spin the small dial that sits directly under the head. The settings
go from 1, which is a very mild, non-irritating shave, all the way up
to 6 which is a very close, more aggressive shave. You can also adjust
it between settings. The head of the T2 is slightly larger than the 6,
but I still had no problem getting under the nose. The overall balance
is nice in my opinion. The handles grip is also very good.
From GQ page
"Every
single product that receives a GQ Grooming Award earned it because we
think it will improve your life in some way. It's little things,
generally—a comfortable shave, a more-interesting scent, slightly whiter
teeth. But taking care of yourself adds up to more than the sum of its
parts. It's the charge of feeling your best and the pleasure of a
considered routine with products you love using. And trust us: you're
going to like these 85 winners."

Their comments on the razor
"The Best Razor
One
place you might not expect much progress is in old-fashioned safety
razors, whose biggest fans tend to embrace old-fashioned practicality.
But Rockwell T2 safety razor uses a unique hinge and an intuitive
adjustment knob to get the razor exactly where it will give the closest
irritation-free shave. Unlike a lot of the cartridge-shaving tech out
there, it’s some real innovation."
Conclusion
The
Rockwell model T2 is a little bit expensive mainly because it has parts
made in China and the United States, but it is assembled in Canada. It
is also has a 100% full metal construction with a combination of brass,
stainless steel, chromed zinc alloy. However around the holidays you can
typically get this razor anywhere from 30% off to 50% off. In fact I
only paid around $92 USD.
A much less
expensive alternative to the Rockwell model T2, would be the Viking
Blade's Emperor MEIJI adjustable Razor. For the price, it is a very
worth looking at.
