Life without Windows or OS X

GNU/Linux is quite possibly the most important free software achievement since the original Space War, or, more recently, Emacs. It has developed into an operating system for business, education, and personal productivity. GNU/Linux is no longer only for UNIX wizards who sit for hours in front of a glowing console. Are you thinking about switching to Linux and want to learn how to use it? Have you been using GNU/Linux for some time and want to learn even more? This is the place for you.

Nvidia Proprietary Drivers will Break EVERY KDE Plasma Based Desktops.

I love KDE Plasma 5. I think its one of the best Desktop Environment for those who use the nouveau opensource video driver. But if you are someone that uses the Nvidia Proprietary Driver KDE becomes buggy.

Whether it be KDE Neon, Kubuntu, or any other OS with the Plasma desktop. As soon as I install the Nvidia Drivers (390-410) for both the Nvidia 750ti and the 1070ti I get a weird artifact bug where name of menu icons turn hazy and unreadable.

The nouveau driver works perfectly. The Mesa video driver for my RX 560 card works perfectly. So if you need Nvidia Proprietary Drivers for any reason avoid KDE Plasma 5.
