Life without Windows or OS X

GNU/Linux is quite possibly the most important free software achievement since the original Space War, or, more recently, Emacs. It has developed into an operating system for business, education, and personal productivity. GNU/Linux is no longer only for UNIX wizards who sit for hours in front of a glowing console. Are you thinking about switching to Linux and want to learn how to use it? Have you been using GNU/Linux for some time and want to learn even more? This is the place for you.

Adidas Adi-Speed 501 Pro Training Gloves (Designed in the USA)

No this not a post about Software...

Adidas ADISBG501

When choosing the best boxing gloves, brand does play a role. Brands vary in terms of value and quality.Boxing gloves come in many shapes and sizes. Buying a pair can be overwhelming, especially if you are a beginner. Adidas is well known worldwide and it’s not difficult to find their products, but they are, however, better known in Europe than in the US. Where I live, Adidas boxing gloves are almost non-existent for the most part. Many people say Adidas only makes good shoes. I am more of a Rivel and Everlast fan when it comes to boxing gloves. I got The Adi-Speed 501 for two main reasons. The first to see if these adidas are really as good as they say and the second to see if the Adi-Speed 501 velcro gloves could replace my TITLE and Rival lace-up gloves.
Adidas Adi-Speed 500

The Adidas Adi-Speed Pro Training Gloves come in lace-up (Adi-Speed 500) and hook & loop (Adi-Speed 501) variants. Available in sizes: 12, 14, 16 & 18oz.

Adidas Adi-Speed 501

The construction and material of the Adispeeds are great. Full leather gloves are usually preferred by most professionals. However I still prefer non-leather over leather. The Adi-Speed 501 has a one block design that covers the whole hand from the finger-tips to the forearm. I feel the cloud m.v.e foam in these gloves has better shock absorption than both my Rival RS100s or De La Hoya lace gloves. The shape of this glove is very comfortable. They have a Soft inner lining for comfort and will fit the very first time you use it. No need to break in the gloves, they will conform to your hand the first time you wear them. The foam is also just the right density out of the box for sparring. It has a super nice velcro strap similar in design to the angled cuff that Rival are known for. In fact Rival Boxing CEO Russ Anber complained that a certain Adidas boxing glove shared a few too similarities with Rival’s own boxing gloves.

I have used them for many hours on a double end bag, a Hydrostrike heavy bag and catch release focus mitts. The stitching did not fray even after after hours of use. The cloud mve foam padding protected my hands. It has much better force dispersal than gloves with more basic foam padding. The integrated foam provides maximum protection to the metacarpals. The cuffs also offers the best protection when blocking punches. They use Velcro closure for quick on and off. Many believe that Winning boxing gloves are the best boxing gloves in the world. The reason why they’re durable is because they’re made with the highest quality of material available. However the Adi-Speed 501 are relatively cheaper.

Conclusion

It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or amateur or any level in between, these gloves are made for for you. Adidas crafted these training gloves (ADISBG501) with cowhide leather.  The tight cuff means that you can get an incredibly secure fit around the wrist, even if you have skinnier wrists. It feels like it matches the shape of my wrists and hands better than my TITLE Oscar De La Hoya lace sparring gloves do. So far they seem strong enough handle everything I throw at them. But I wont be using them as much on my Hydrostrike heavy bag. The softer cushion isn’t meant to be used all the time on heavy bags as that wears down the padding quickly. Winning, alongside Grant and Fly sports, is considered as one of the top 3 brands in boxing. They are expensive training gloves that are worth the price because of their quality. But, that does not mean that cheap gloves these are of low quality. This is good for people like myself who are struggling to make the quality and cost meet in the middle. Overall, the gloves are good value for the money.

Things to keep in mind.

Trying to save money and buying a cheap pair of gloves is only going to cost you more down the line. Many boxers have made this mistake, myself included.

There are lot of boxing gloves brands and hundreds of design which make it difficult for people to choose from. The glove brands that have worked best for my hands have been Everlast and Rival. Keep in mind compartment/hand cage sizes do differ across brands. Don't fool by cool looking design instead look for quality. Get the right pair of gloves from the start or you might find yourself spending hundreds of dollars on avoidable injury. So how do we find the perfect pair of boxing gloves for our fist? That’s simple: trial and error..

– BAG gloves protect you.
– SPARRING gloves protect your partner.
– TRAINING gloves should protect both.

Stop Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying, for the most part, is when a school-age child is tormented, harassed, threatened, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another school-age child using the Internet or mobile phones. Currently, cyberbullying is one of the fastest growing problems facing school administrators around the country. Kids have killed each other and committed suicide after having been involved in a cyberbullying incident.

Ever heard of Megan Meier. She was a 13 year old from Missouri who had an online friendship on MySpace with a person she believed was “Josh Evans” a young boy near where she lived. In actuality, the “friend” was a group of individuals, including adults, who were intent on humiliating Megan because of a lost friendship with another child. Meier and "Josh" never met in person or spoke. They became "friends" and Megan later "fell in love" with her online buddy whom she had never met. Meier thought "Josh" was attractive. Meier began to exchange messages with this person, and was described by family as having had her "spirits lifted". But the communication eventually turned hostile. Josh still was sending troubling messages. And he apparently had shared some of Megan's messages with others. Megan, believing she had been rejected by "Josh," committed suicide in her home. Well as it turned out Josh was really an adult woman named Lori Drew. She told the police that the account was aimed at "gaining Megan's confidence and finding out what Megan felt about her daughter and other people."

I guess the point I was marking here is that. Cyberbullying can be done by anyone of any age. We need to work to stop the madness. No one deserves to be bullied because every person has value and worth. Young people need to speak up for their friends when they see bullying happening, by giving support and expect accountability from the adults.
