Life without Windows or OS X

GNU/Linux is quite possibly the most important free software achievement since the original Space War, or, more recently, Emacs. It has developed into an operating system for business, education, and personal productivity. GNU/Linux is no longer only for UNIX wizards who sit for hours in front of a glowing console. Are you thinking about switching to Linux and want to learn how to use it? Have you been using GNU/Linux for some time and want to learn even more? This is the place for you.

What is Feral GameMode?

Feral Interactive has created a program for GNU+Linux gamers known as GameMode. It is a program that can improve performance while playing video games by optimizing several aspects of the GNU+Linux operating system, including the CPU governor, I/O priorities, and GPU performance. Feral Interactive's GameMode performance tool was added officially into Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. For everyone else you will have to install it.

The most important part of installing GameMode on Linux is getting the variety of build-time software dependencies it needs installed. To get the dependencies for GameMode set up on your Linux PC, follow the command-line instructions below.

For Linux Mint 19 first install: gcc-multilib.

Note: gcc-multilib is useful for cross-compiling, that is, compiling a program to run on a different processor architecture.

For Linux Mint 19, the dependencies required are Meson, Libsystemd-dev, Pkg-config, Ninja, Git, Libdbus-1-dev, and Dbus-user-session.

Copy and paste to terminal: sudo apt install meson libsystemd-dev pkg-config ninja-build git libdbus-1-dev dbus-user-session

Next

git clone https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode.git

Then

cd gamemode

And

./bootstrap.sh

When the build/installation process is complete on your Linux PC, you will be able to access the GameMode manually by typing the command below.

man gamemoded

Enable game mode

For Steam Games:

Go to your Library and right-click on the game you want Feral Game Mode to run on. Go to Properties > Set Launch Options. “Set Launch Options” window text box, type in

gamemoderun  %command%

BitTorrent (client)

Torrent is a protocol designed for transferring files. It is peer-to-peer in nature, as users connect to each other directly to send and receive portions of the file. However, there is a central server (called a tracker) which coordinates the action of all such peers. In most of these networks, ordinary Internet users trade files by directly connecting one-to-one. The advantage here is that files can be shared without having access to a proper server, and because of this there is little accountability for the contents of the files. Hence, these networks tend to be very popular for illicit files such as music, movies, pirated software, etc.

Protect this Old Republic

Upon leaving the 1787 Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was reportedly asked what sort of government the delegates had created- a republic or a monarchy? His answer was simple: “A republic, if you can keep it. Our responsibility is to keep it.” The first time this quote appeared in print was in 1906 in the American Historical Review. It had been found in the notes of James McHenry, a Maryland delegate to the constitutional convention.

Rival RFX-Guerrero-V Bag Gloves

Update...

For those who don't know Guerrero bag gloves are a traditional “Mexican-Style” pro boxing glove which Rivel has adapted for bag use. A trait of Mexican gloves is that the way they’re shaped helps you throw punches correctly. Rivels Guerrero competition gloves have been used in many world championship fights like  Ruiz vs Joshua 2 and has been endorsed by some of boxing’s best like Vasyl Lomachenko.

I guess the key issue is still, Rival is not readily found in stores where I live. Everything tends to be Everlast or Title. For me Rival on par with the quality of Reyes, and perhaps even a little better. There has been a recent $30 price hike. I'm not sure why that is. The the fight version also has a similar price hike. Nearly $300 USD can be very expensive for a glove only intended for bag or pad work is a bit much. However they are very high quality. These bag gloves are not a gimmick. They actually feel the difference in comfort and support from their unique glove designs.

Conclusion.

The Wrist-Lock 2 straps are far better than any other velcros I have ever used. They are almost as good as being laced up. With Wrist-Lock 2 you get a solid, rigid lock on your wrists extending up to your lower palm and down the wrist.

These gloves are holding up under pressure. I know people talk a lot of times about gloves that fall apart in a couple of months, but these have not. I will note that I mostly only use them on a water filled bag because that's the only type of heavy bag I have in my home. Because of social distancing rules I never really had a chance to use them extensively on a traditional heavy bag. I used the on a sand filled traditional heavy bag only once. Wrap up well if that is what you intend on using them for. So I would imagine that the wear and tear on these Rivels would probably be a lot more using them on a traditional heavy bag, but since I am using mostly a water bag, that could be a reason why they're holding up so well.

Note: Rival RFX-Guerrero-V Bag Gloves can never be used for sparring or hitting another person. The layered foam padding is way too hard. They are for bag, punch mitt, or air use only.

Age Covid-19

COVID-19 has brought with it many disruptions. According to the CDC, from 2010 to 2019, an average of 30 million Americans had the flu. And both years there was an average of 37,000 deaths. This works out to an infection-fatality rate of 0.12 percent. We’ve tolerated that level of illness death from influenza for every year since the flu pandemic of 1918. As of this posting Since then, the U.S. has had 5,915,630 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 180,000 deaths, for an IFR of a round 3.6 percent.

I am no expert in infectious diseases. But from what I've seen for this year. This covid is not the flu. According to the CDC influenza has resulted in between 9 million – 45 million illnesses, between 140,000 – 810,000 hospitalizations and between 12,000 – 61,000 deaths annually since 2010. Covid has shattered all of those numbers with more than 180,0000 deaths in less than a year. The death rate from seasonal flu is typically around 0.1% in the U.S.

There's a lot of unproven theories about coronavirus that are floating in the wild. The information comes from not pure review or an unbiased source but entities that don't challenge their worldview. In the age of misinformation, people have found a reason to believe that the coronavirus is a figment of our imagination – a hoax of some sort. United States is always thought to be the most advanced country on the planet. How can it be that citizens the most developed nation on earth find it so hard to believe that we’re living through a pandemic? There are a lot of political figures that are keyboard warriors, armchair doctors and conspiracy theorists.

As stated before I am not an expert in infectious diseases. But I do know that covid-19 is NOT a cover-up for the installation of 5G towers. There are many that pushed that push the idea that 5G and Covid-19 are part of a broader effort to depopulate the planet. They suggest that 5G networks cause radiation, which, in turn, triggers the virus. So many people believe this madness to the point that many Mobile operators in the UK reported instances of vandals setting fire to cell towers.

An American passport means nothing now. We are pariahs...
